HOW TO MEASURE YOUR BABY

For the sleeve length, stretch the arm completely and measure as shown. For the head, chest, waist and hip measurements, measure around each of the said part like in the diagram.

For the shoulder measurement, measure along the back of the shoulder while standing in a straight posture.

To check the suitability of dress lengths, measure downwards from the shoulder to the knees. For skirts, mundus, and pants, measure downward from the waist till the ankle.

Boys Measurement

Shoulder- Place one end of the measuring tape on the tip of one shoulder and draw it across your back.

Chest- Place the end of the measuring tape on the front of your chest at the widest point. Going under your arms, wrap the measuring tape around your back, making sure it doesn't twist up. Pull it taut so it's horizontal around your body. Try to pull your arms down over the tape and take the measurement.

Length from Shoulder to knee- This would start from the tip of the shoulder and straight down to the knee.

Note- For women, you may measure from the tip of your shoulder to the point where you want the dress to end. Usually, it's a little below the knee.

Sleeve Length- Start measuring from the tip of your shoulder to the part where the sleeve ends. This would differ according to the dress you have chosen.

Length of the Shirt/ Short Kurta- Keep the measuring tape at the tip of the shoulder and measure till the point where you want the shirt/kurta to end.

Length of Long Kurta- Keep the measuring tape at the tip of the shoulder and measure till the point where you want the long kurta to end. Usually it ends a little above your knee.

Waist- Your natural waist is the smallest part of your waist, usually just above your belly button and under your rib cage. Make sure the tape measure is flat around your body, and then take the measurement in front.

Note: For mundu, the waist is always adjustable as they will have velcro on them.

Hips- Wrap the tape around your body, ensuring you go over the widest part of your buttocks, too. Keep the tape horizontal and flat against your body, and then take the measurement in front where the measuring tape meets itself.

Length from shoulder to feet- Start measuring from your waist, hold the measuring tape straight till your ankle and measure the length.
